Job Description

The American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking an articulate and professional communicator to maintain the Unified Communications (UC) systems and collaboration services. This position will provide second-level support for voice and conferencing technology, manage vendor relationships (including RFP’s, SOW’s, contract/service agreement negotiations, invoice processing), and maintain detailed documentation of the systems.

Duties include:
1. Maintain highly available multi-ISP internet connectivity and MPLS for AAP headquarters, Washington, D.C. office, and remote hosting facilities.
2. Manage AAP’s Unified Communications systems and collaboration services including, CUBEs, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, IM & Presence, Emergency Responder, Unified Contact Center Express, Finesse, Work Force Optimization, Advanced Quality Manager, Unified Intelligence Center, Expressway C & E, Webex, Social Miner, Jabber; and Singlewire InformaCast paging.
3. Provide support and systems integrations for Member and Customer Care, including UCCX, Finesse, AQM, and WFO.
4. Provide budgetary guidance on systems as needed for AAP headquarters and Washington, D.C. offices.
5. Negotiate wireless, internet, and data communications contracts/service agreements. Manage renewals and vendor relationships.
6. Manage communications network and end-user hardware, software installations, upgrades, and moves, adds, and changes (MACs).
7. Manage Cisco licensing for voice and video conferencing.
8. Provide second-level support to staff for voice, conferencing technology, and training. Track related trouble tickets. Coordinate with HR on the development of staff training and system reference materials.
9. Work closely with Senior Technical Analyst to monitor and troubleshoot network performance.
10. Provide and maintain detailed documentation on system functionality.

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications management or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. CCNP or CCIE certification preferred.
2. Three to five years of experience required managing Cisco Unified Communications products, vendor management, contract negotiation, analyzing operational statistics, QOS and performance tuning and troubleshooting.
3. Experience with CUBE, CUCM, CUC, CER, CUIC, Cisco IM & Presence, UCCX, WFO, AQM, Social Miner, Cisco BE 6000, Cisco Expressway C&E, Jabber, SIP, H.323 and MGCP voice protocol configuration preferred. Experience with SingleWire InformaCast paging desirable, as well as a thorough understanding of network infrastructure components, configuration of VoIP systems, and interoperability of voice and data networks.
4. Excellent problem solving, project management, financial/budget management, communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills required.
