TRX Instructors teach at any of the four Recreation Centers for the City of Lakewood. This position is directly supervised by the Fitness Specialist and Fitness and Wellness Programs Administrator, and will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:
Instruct TRX classes to community members.
Educate participants on proper and safe exercise form.
Enforce policies and procedures in group fitness activity areas. Execute risk management plan.
Maintain Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor with TRX endorsement, and CPR/First Aid certifications.
Group Fitness Instructor with TRX endorsement, or Personal Trainer with same--nationally recognized certification
AHA or American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification
Supervision Received Receives general supervision from Fitness and Wellness Programs Administrator and the Fitness Specialist.
Experience working with a wide array of populations and/or conditions.
Minimum of 6 months TRX small group training experience.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current CPR and First Aid certification. *refer to specific certification requirements above

Physical ability to safely move all necessary equipment back and forth from storage locations to class readiness on floor
Recognition of safety concerns
Working knowledge and aptitude in fitness
Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate
Willingness to help cover/substitute for other instructors as needed
Ability to make sound decisions
Strong organizational skills
Ability to use a computer and on-line time entry system, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other City personnel and the general public
Experience in large group presentations highly recommended
Ability to recognize deficiencies in class and make necessary modifications as needed
Willingness to encourage participation in other fitness programs offered by the City of Lakewood
Maintain personal and professional health to act as role model for patrons and coworkers
