Lecturer in Media Arts
The Department of Communication at Boise State University invites applicants for a Lecturer Faculty position to support the BA program in Media Arts, which includes emphasis areas in Journalism and Media Studies, Media Production, and Public Relations. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track position with an expected teaching load of approximately four courses per semester and possible service. Course load will be devoted to teaching the theory and practice of journalism and media production.
Minimum qualifications for the position are:
A master’s degree (or other graduate degree) in communication, journalism, media production, or a related field in hand by August 1, 2019
Evidence of potential for successfully teaching courses in both journalism and media production
Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level
Ability to teach some combination of the following courses: audio/video production; media writing for broadcast, social media, and the web; multimedia storytelling; news reporting and writing; reporting public affairs; introductory and advanced media theory and studies
