Criterion Systems is seeking to hire an Associate Cyber Security Architect to support a government customer in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Associate Cyber Security Architect will provide expert level strategic planning and technical solutions, in conjunction with support provided by the Cyber Security Architect, for a major Federal government contract, supporting both classified and unclassified information systems and networks. This position is located in Las Vegas, Nevada with travel to various CONUS and (infrequently) OCONUS client locations.
This is a highly collaborative position that requires an understanding of the client organization business needs and provides secure technical solutions to meet those needs by interfacing with contract staff, government client managers and executives, and other contractors.
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to teams within the organization;
Interviewing stakeholders to identify and collect requirements;
Participation in the development and maintenance of Security Architecture documents and artifacts;
Developing secure solutions for enterprise, enclave, and local-level information systems;
Creating, analyzing and improving business and engineering processes;
Supporting the strategic technical vision for the organization;
Designing solutions that satisfy redundancy, high availability and scalability, security, and manageability requirements;
Participation in the development and maintenance of the organization’s technology roadmap;
Participation in the development and execution of plans achieve technology roadmap;
Maintain a broad knowledge base of emerging threats and technologies and techniques to detect and mitigate them;
Active participation in Engineering Review activities;
Working with cross-functional and cross-site teams, building consensus, and influencing project directions to achieve strategic objectives;
This position may also require up to 25% travel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills;
Strong understanding and knowledge of architecture standards and patterns, and a passion for advocating their correct usage;
Significant background in systems or network admin with exposure to both and has achieved the level of senior/team lead positions in those roles. The candidate needs to have demonstrated rapid growth and adaptability, gaining the necessary knowledge and experience through sheer determination and independent effort.
Strong understanding and knowledge of best practices for securing networks and computer systems;
Experience designing, architecting, or implementing complex enterprise systems;
Previous experience leading IT and/or cybersecurity projects;
In-depth knowledge of networking systems, architecture;
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft O/S and services;
In-depth knowledge of Linux O/S and services;
In-depth knowledge of VM technologies;
In-depth knowledge with cloud architectures and systems;
Effective leadership and relationship management skills with ability to influence activity and performance without direct authority;
Experience in implementing and delivering technology projects requiring cross-functional coordination;
Solid understanding of best practices in designing and maintaining high availability systems and environments;
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
5+ years of experience in IT, Systems Administration, Cyber Security, Network Architecture, Systems Development or related.
Working knowledge of architecture frameworks and standards used in Federal Government.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related area, or substitute with 4 years of work experience in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT, or related field.
Previous experience working in a classified or highly secured environments;
Current Q or TS clearance with SCI.
A combination of standard Information Assurance industry certifications, to include GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CCIE, MCSE, RHCA, DoD 8570 or the ability to obtain a certification.
Knowledge and experience working with Big Data systems.
Experience working with and designing geographically separated infrastructures and disaster recovery planning.
