Job Description

The staff writer produces digital and print content on a weekly basis for Risk & Insurance, a trade publication covering the commercial property/casualty insurance industry. Travel a minimum of twice yearly for lengths of up to five days. Candidate is expected to interact professionally with a broad range of insurance and risk management professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Generating story ideas for both the magazine and electronic products
  • Building a network of sources.
  • Editing and proofreading print features and online stories.
  • Compiling digital newsletters.

Position Requirements

  • 4-year college degree
  • 2 years working for a newspaper, magazine or website.
  • Proven ability to interview sources by phone and face to face
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Published proof of writing samples.

Desired Qualifications

  • B2B writing experience
  • Journalism degree
  • Familiarity with finance
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Wordpress
