Job Description

Job DescThe Share Point Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining SharePoint applications and Microsoft Office solutions around the core concepts of automation, workflow & process improvement, system/application integration, enterprise content management, and collaboration.
The ideal candidate would have in depth experience developing solutions in a SharePoint environment using the built-in features and tool set while possessing working knowledge of standard web development technologies which interface onto the SharePoint stack. The skill set should complement our team of Database Developers, Technical Architects and SharePoint Gurus to bring forth fresh new solutions on systems integrations in a SharePoint cloud environment.
This position will be responsible for contributing to each stage of the software development lifecycle:
• Working with business analysts and stakeholders in gathering and defining business and technical requirements;
• Designing, developing, and deploying custom SharePoint and Office solutions on New York State’s G3 Office 365 tenant;
• Providing ongoing training and technical support to end users.
In addition, this position researches, recommends, and leverages new Office 365 features as they become available in the State environment. This position is required to work closely with consultants, end users, and other IT staff, providing hands-on support for current and future applications, as well as work independently on projects when necessary under the direction of Managing Director, Enterprise Application Development (EAD).

• Develop custom SharePoint Online solutions using seeded functionality (workflows, web parts, etc.) as well as
custom solutions using SharePoint 2010, 2013, Office 365 and standard web development strategies. Desired tools
include InfoPath, SharePoint Designer and Visual Studio Code. Hands on experience required.
• Serve as Web Developer and Site Administrator including provisioning and permissioning.
• Analyze business requirements, assess alternative solutions, design develop and implement application system
solutions using Microsoft SharePoint, Office or other systems.
• Based on understanding of requirements, configure and/or develop SharePoint web parts, pages, navigation and
security to meet business needs.
• Participate in system testing, integration testing, and review/development of business training materials.
• Integrate data from various sources including SQL Server 2012 R2., Web Services and 3rd Party APIs into solutions.
• Automation and document management using SharePoint Online and Office 365.
• Work in partnership with business analysts to collect business requirements, understand processes and develop
solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years relevant work experience as a SharePoint Developer defining, designing, testing and deploying web
solutions on Microsoft Office platforms.
• 3+ years of web development experience; including programming and developing web applications.
• 2+ years of experience in the SharePoint 2013 or Online environment.
• 2+ years of SharePoint administration experience.
• 1+ years of experience using the SharePoint client-side object model and the and REST/OData services.
• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript, Ajax and jQuery.
• 4+ years of experience with HTML5/CSS 3.0.
• 3+ years of working closely with one or more business teams in a supporting role.
• 2+ Experience working closely with technical teams
• 2+ Experience writing technical documentation.
• 2+ years of working with Access and Excel.
• Experience developing performance dashboards using SQL/Access Databases, Excel and SharePoint Online.
• Extensive knowledge of SharePoint 2010, 2013 & Online, SharePoint Designer 2010 & 2013 and InfoPath 2010 &
2013.
• SharePoint experience must include SharePoint Designer workflows, effective use of the data view web part,
content query web part, data form web part, navigation customization, Excel Services and some branding
customization.
• Project experience deploying content management solutions focusing on document management, workflow,
document archiving, content creation and deployment strategies for web-focused business teams or consumers.
• Project experience deploying intranets, collaborative work spaces, company portals or departmental web sites.
• Understanding of system design/architecture, the software development lifecycle and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of business both verbally and in writing.
Desired Qualifications:
• SharePoint Certifications a plus, specifically: Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) for SharePoint,
Application Development AND/OR Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) for SharePoint, Configuration

• Experience working with the Sharegate migration/reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and GitHub as an IDE.
• Knowledge of Active Directory (on-premises and Azure).
• Experience in C#/.NET, Visual Basic or Stored Procedures on an SQL Server a big plus.
