SimbaCom is seeking a Field Service Representative for SATCOM Installations/O&M Support to join our team. This professional will part a two-man team to provide professional and technical support for the installation of the MEO AvL terminal in various locations around the world. Following the install the contractor will be required to stay behind and provide O&M support of the terminal. Deployments are in 1 year increment contracts with R&R every 6 months.
Perform the installation of the MEO AvL antenna terminal equipment, and ensure proper operation of the equipment. The tasks include at a minimum:
Unpacking, inventorying, and recording the model and serial number of the equipment
Physical assembly of the satellite terminal antenna, and connection to associated RF and modem equipment
Installing all signal and power cables
Ensure all signal and power cables and connections are properly run and terminated
Ensuring the BUC, LNB and Modem are properly installed and operating
Ensuring the terminals are tracking the satellites
Activating and configuring the RF and modem equipment
Connecting the modem to the customer equipment and ensuring proper operation over the satellite link
Performing end-to-end connectivity and iPerf test to confirm proper end-to-end connectivity
Installing, activating, and testing the BGAN terminal for remote management
Labeling connectors as specified.
Moving all packing material to a customer designated area
All required test equipment and installation tools shall be provided by the Subcontractor
Support installation of the radomes
Install will require 2 man teams but 1 FSR will be left behind to provide onsite O&M support.
At the end of each day, provide report to customer management and Network Operations Center on status of installation
Provide 24/7 standby O&M support at the remote site and provide onsite troubleshooting assistance as needed on terminals.
Submit a weekly report of onsite duties and maintenance to management, and attend weekly conference calls and customer meetings as needed.
Coordinate remote logistics of equipment in and out of country
Based on experience
Active DoD Secret
Must be a U.S citizen and hold a minimum of SECRET clearance
CompTIA certification A+ or Network+, or 2 years of Helpdesk experience to substitute certifications
VSAT Training and a minimum of 1 year SATCOM experience
A minimum of 1 year deployment experience as a contractor or service member
