POSITION TITLE: FORENSIC ENGINEER – CIVIL/STRUCTURAL
LOCATION: Dallas, Texas
Haag Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer in Dallas, Texas, licensed in Texas, to handle forensic engineering work for clients throughout the region. The engineer will be expected to evaluate the cause of failure, extent of damage, and options for repair in a variety of construction-related circumstances, including roof evaluations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Evaluating the cause and extent of damage following storms and natural disasters
Effectively communicate opinions in writing and verbally, and sometimes as courtroom testimony
Effectively and patiently communicate technical matters to laypersons, public gatherings, and courtroom juries

Civil & Structural Engineering
NO Security Clearance
5-7 years civil/structural engineering experience; Forensic experience (2 years preferred)
Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
PE required; Licensed Professional Engineer
Project management or supervisory experience desired
NCEES registration or has obtained licensing (by examination) in at least one state and will apply to NCEES within six (6) months of hire date
Must never have been disciplined by an engineering board or licensing authority
Proficiency in other civil engineering branches such as soils, drainage, pavements, and hydraulics is highly desired
Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with clients and employees at all levels of the organization
Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills with attention to detail and a high quality of work in a pressure environment
Must be able to work independently, efficiently manage your time, and meet deadlines on multiple concurrent projects
Strong communication skills; verbal and written. Public speaking is a must; effective report writing is critical
Strong project management, data interpretation, and technical writing skills
Must be able to quickly adapt to change to meet business needs
Ability to travel up to 60% to support project needs both in and out of state
Demonstrated computer skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing and able to perform all types of field inspections and to work at heights or in confined spaces (roofs, crawlspaces, and in between)
Must be able to work in inclement weather
Must be willing to put in long hours as needed during peak times
