Job Description


LOCATION:  Flower Mound (Dallas), Texas


Haag Engineering is seeking a Laboratory Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Haag Research & Testing (HRT) lab. This role reports to the HRT Director. The responsibilities for this role include the purchase, maintenance, certification, and operation of equipment at our Flower Mound, Texas laboratory. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for purchasing supplies, constructing test assemblies, and the scheduling and management of research and testing programs. This position is a working manager role, accountable for and personally involved in the day-to-day operational activities from a hands-on perspective, with the further responsibility to manage laboratory employees. Further responsibilities will include, in part:


  • Training of laboratory personnel
  • Constructing of test assemblies
  • Research and testing data collection & report production
  • Organization and cleanliness of the lab
  • Responsible for the Sample Storage System
  • Responsible for field vacuum uplift testing and field infrared thermography
  • Coordinate lab tours and demonstrations

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor Degree in Science with 8 to 10 years of related experience; Professional Engineer license preferred, but not required
  • Prefer background with physical testing (as opposed to chemical or electrical testing)
  • Testing of building envelope/roofing materials preferred, but not required
  • Strong organization, analytic, and strategic planning skills with focused attention to detail, and a high quality of work output in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Must be able to work efficiently, manage professional time, and meet deadlines on multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; effective report writing is critical
  • Strong project management, data interpretation, and technical writing skills required
  • Must be able to quickly adapt to change to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated computer skills
