Job Description

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

Manage all Driver Operations                                                                                                                                        

  • Responsible for driver hiring, driver training, performance assessment, rewards and recognition and discipline
  • Oversee all fleet safety programs and ensure the development of, and adherence to, standard operating procedures and policy guidelines
  • Oversee driver efficiency and training programsManage Delivery Operations Dispatch                                                                                                                                   

Responsible for managing all aspects of the dispatch function including:

  • Managing all dispatch staff, planning staff requirements and personnel scheduling
  • Coordinating communications with Customer Service, Sales, EFS, Supply and Maintenance functions
  • Planning driver requirements
  • Implementing systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors
  • Procuring and managing network of outside carriers
  • Manage product delivery information systems used to support fleet operations (Raven’s, Fleetmatics, Dashboard, etc

Responsible for customer order fulfillment including but not limited to:

  • Remotely monitored tank inventories
  • “Will Call” customer orders
  • Time based (“Julian”) automatic deliveries
  • EFS fuel orders
  • Compliance with customer contract requirements

Manage Regulatory Compliance Programs

  • Responsible for all driver and fleet compliance reporting including drivers hours of service and IFTA  

Support Fleet and Equipment Maintenance                                                                                              

  • Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance and Portable Tank functions to optimize overall preparation, maintenance and repair efforts for the all trucks and portable tanks/equipment including preventative maintenance and long-range capital replacement programs.

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

  •    Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in business management or operations
  •    Ability to become proficient in DOT and OSHA Compliance requirements
  •    Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, analytical and decision making abilities
  •    Strong leadership skills including organizational, coaching, mentoring and project planning and management
  •    Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to staff, outside vendors, government agencies and senior management
  •    Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point and the ability to learn new dispatch and fleet software package applications
  •    Ability to travel
