Job Description

This position is a key leadership role in the Consumer Solutions CE and on the FP&A team. It includes substantial visibility to the Executive Team, while being a strong advocate for the business and for the finance function. The CFO - Consumer Solutions CE is a trusted business advisor to the Consumer Solutions Senior VP and to the CFO.

• Serves as the primary Consumer Solutions CE financial executive while being responsible to the FP&A team.
• Creates plans to achieve the business and economic profit goals.
• Identifies and assesses the feasibility of future innovative strategies for the long-term success of the company.
• Monitors financial performance, and ensures on-going financial success for the company.
• Ensures and directs the preparation of financial analyses, reporting and review to determine cost effectiveness of proposed and/or existing programs.
• Manages the organizational talent through management development and succession plans, partnering with other Finance leaders and HR to identify and develop future leaders.
• Controls analyses and models that support reports to executive management on financial implications and recommendations related to ongoing and proposed business changes such as product offerings, capital improvements, capacity changes, etc.
• Leads innovation around business issues, always considering the voice of the customer.
• Presents results of analyses to audiences with a wide range of financial acumen.
• Ensure accurate, timely monthly financial reporting / close and communicate how Consumer is performing to U. S. Steel executive management
• Deliver financial data using common platform for financial reporting and build financial reporting capabilities of key personnel within Consumer
• Contribute as member of Consumer Executive team in developing and implementing the vision and strategy for the CE
• Measure and track progress of top strategic initiatives within AMP program
• Make decisions based on what's in the best interest of the enterprise vs. the individual CE / Segment and drive cross-CE collaboration and transparency to optimize assets across NAFR segment
• Manage Consumer's finance operations, and support the SVP to achieve overall business plans
• Serve as a trusted business partner and member of executive team to catalyze change for Consumer
• Develop and oversee strong set of internal controls in place
• Participate in the decision-making process within the Segment to ensure the maximization of profitability and return to shareholders
• Contribute to building of culture focused on personal and professional accountability
• Ensure execution of development plans and own development of talent pipeline for CFO role

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business related field (MBA and/or CPA/CMA preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
• Foundational understanding of the industry, its core drivers and business processes.
• Strong analytical & quantitative skills.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.

• Minimum 15 years of functional experience with deep knowledge about financial tools, processes and organizations, especially in the heavy industrial space
• Deep knowledge in current trends and developments in a cyclical industry (steel preferred) and local regulations affecting the finance function
• Extensive experience in working in industrial manufacturing involving complex and large operations as well as leading large teams
