Provides end-to-end administration of the database systems used by AgVantis to provide IT infrastructure and application services using a variety of current tools and methods to ensure functional, performance, data access, and security requirements are met. Provides expertise on and takes responsibility for database driven applications, including those provided on a webserver architecture to internal and external customers.
Identifies and resolves problems, risks, and issues to maximize system production readiness and supportability of enterprise database management systems and database driven applications. Interfaces with customers providing accurate and timely resolution of support tickets.
Plans and executes day-to-day application and database administration and maintenance routines.
Executes the change management process in response to requests from application owners, subject matter experts, and developers in order to complete code releases, and resolution of issues for databases and database-driven applications.
Education including a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data processing, mathematics, business administration, or a related field.
Experience of approximately 3 years in Database Administration
Experience of approximately 2 years using SSIS. Experinece with other ETL systems such as Informatica and DataStage is a plus.
Knowledge of Database Performance Tuning, Database Security, Promoting Process Improvement, Problem Solving, Presenting Technical Information, Quality Focus, Database Management, Data Maintenance, Operating Systems, Attention to Detail, Information Security Policies
Intermediate knowledge of relational and dimensional database technology, specifically MS SQL Server required; experience in Oracle is a plus.
Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages to support efforts for development of atuomated database processes such as PowerShell, .Net, Windows batch and T-SQL.
Some experience with a variety of Business Intelligence delivery systems with a particular emphasis on IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or Tableau.
Familiarity with database monitoring/performance tuning tools such as Redgate, Idera, or Imperva.
Familiarity with webserver architecture especially IIS.
