We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Leasing Associate to join our dedicated property management team in Aurora, IL. 

As a Leasing Associate, your primary duties are to connect with prospective residents and professionally present the features and benefits of the apartment community. You will secure lease agreements from qualified persons.  You must like people and provide excellent service. Your position is key to our business and you need to represent us and strive to make everyone you encounter feel welcome and comfortable in their new apartment home. Your responsibilities will be varied and include:  

  • First impressions: Maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere in the property management leasing office and other areas where prospective and current residents meet
  • Attention to detail: Inspecting model apartments and "market ready" units daily to ensure cleanliness Inspecting the property grounds, helping to maintain curb appeal and tour routes. Reporting  any observations that will require attention from maintenance
  • Attention to customer needs: Answering incoming phone calls and follow up to all leads in an effort to persuade prospective residents to visit the property
  • Leasing: Greeting prospective residents and determining their needs and preferences before showing them model apartments
  • Promotions: Posting ads on the Internet, setting appointments, touring the community and participating in marketing initiatives.
  • Market knowledge: Maintaining an awareness of market conditions and trends; contributing ideas to the property manager for improving resident satisfaction
  • Coordinating move ins: Processing all lease applications, assist with application verification and notify prospective residents of their application status
  • The customer experience: Representing JVM and your community in a manner consistent with our values and mission



Job Requirements:

We are seeking someone who has:  

  •       High school diploma or GED
  •       Two (2) years property management experience
  •       Three (3) year sales experience 
  •       Three (3) year customer service
  •       Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a target phone appointment conversion ratio of 50%
  •       Excellent leasing skills with a target closing conversion ratio of 25%
  •       Email, word and property management computer experience
  •       Excellent organizational skills
