Position Requirements     

Position Summary

Engineering Technician II eCarft Code: 30082

This position is technically trained with skills and techniques related to a specific engineering discipline. A practical understanding of and ability to apply general fundamental engineering concepts. Engineering Technician will support engineers and technologists on projects, research and development.

Position Performance

Competency to build and repair RF, coax, power, and CATE5 cables and circuit cards

Required to label and organize wire label lists to match engineering drawings

Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings

Recent and relevant experience with Navy Multiple Vehicle Communication System (MVCS)

Knowledge in building network stacks of communication equipment in support of military communication system

Performs standardized or prescribed assignments, involving a sequence of related operations. Performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:

    Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts; may service or repair simple instruments or equipment
    Conducts a variety of tests using established methods
    Prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors
    Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources; processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry; presents the data in prescribed form

Certified to operate a semi-electric pallet life or forklift

Knowledgeable with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Excellent oral and verbal communication skills

Ability to work on projects with demanding deadlines

Constructs stable working relationships internally and ability to follow detailed instruction

IPC certified J-STD-001 Solder and Electrical Assemblies

IPC Certified WHMA-A-260 Cable Acceptance and Wire Harness Assemblies


    Secret clearance is preferred and may be required for this position; ability to obtain and maintain.


    Must have valid passport or the ability to obtain.


    High School/Vocational diploma or GED Certificate.

Skills and Experience

    A minimum of (1) year recent experience in electrical and electronics systems

Physical Requirements

    May involve heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions/Hours

    The position is located on Panama City Beach, Florida
    This position may require some travel
    The scheduled work hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Drug-free work environment. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to and pass random drug screenings.
