Job Description

508 Compliance Specialist
Location: Arlington, VA
Status: Full Time
Clearance: Secret
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Identify technical standards applicable to products and services supported by the CIO’s office

Analyze, test, and state degree of compliance of all products to applicable standards

When a product is not fully compliant, employee must state exactly which standards are not met

When a product is not fully compliant, analyze and state the degree of compliance

Stay abreast of 508 compliance standards in order to be the SME for the office of the CIO

Assist with program control tasks to include MS Project schedules, briefings, documents, and reports

Must have 5 years of experience testing software applications for 508 compliance.
Must understand 508 requirements for applications and how to apply principles of accessibility to creating Section 508 presentations.  

Must understand 508 concepts such as accessible forms and tables. 

Must have experience writing test plans, performing integration testing, and must be familiar with testing methods and 508 best practices.  

Must have in-depth knowledge of testing web-based applications and documents.  

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.  

Must be skilled at documenting compliance against Section 508 technical standards.

In depth knowledge of 508 compliance standards and compliance for IT products and documents

Experience with Section 508 testing tools, such as Jaws or ACCVerify

CompTIA Security+ or Security+CE
WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable):

Office of Naval Research, Arlington, VA.  Employee will work daily with a 50 person team.  Employee will also work with the 508 compliance specialists in the government to identify knowledge programs to distribute information.




$125k per year
