Janis Research is looking for a senior mechanical engineer with advanced knowledge of parametric design software,
More specifically the responsibilities will include:
Actively participate in and lead aspects of design and development activities for a variety of standard and/or custom cryogenic products
Provide technical expertise and engineering excellence to cryogenic product development projects
Generate imaginative yet practical technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Exhibit an understanding of customer needs and processes to ensure relevant and innovative product development solutions.
Demonstrate technical rigor and creativity, continuous learning and improvement, and alignment to customer needs and value creation
Execute technical and/or cross-functional project work
Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts to improve product performance or enhance products' ability to address customer needs
SolidWorks in particular to work with physicists and sales engineers on product development in all stages, from research and development to design and manufacturing. Experience in cryogenic, aerospace or scientific instrumentation industry desired. A strong mechanical system packaging background and knowledge of materials with a deep understanding of different types of metal and plastic jointing techniques, welding and brazing in particular. Experience with PDM and PLM systems, thermal and mechanical FEA, CAM is a must. BSME, MSME preferred and at least 5 years hands-on mechanical design experience is required. Prior machining experience or vacuum product design experience would be beneficial. Experience in cryogenics would be a major plus.
