Job Description

Travel and Payroll Administrator
Department: Human Resources                       
Job Purpose:  Handle all small business government travel issues IAW JTR. Perform complete payroll cycle. Perform other payroll functions in the processing of the bi-weekly payroll. On-Board new hires including collecting new hire paperwork, ensuring new hire data in Zenefits/Unanet is correct, tracking of all new hires, completing I-9 process, submitting new hire paperwork to payroll and following up with hiring managers to obtain all new hire orientation documentation.
 
Summary
Experience Required
  • Must have at least 3 – 5 years’ prior experience with government travel and all Joint Travel Regulations (JTR); experience must include reviewing travel claims either for the government or as a contractor
  • Must have onboarding new hires experience
  • Must have payroll experience
  • Must have experience administering benefits

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office (especially word and excel), and Google applications 
Experience Desired
  • Accounting and bookkeeping or equivalent training
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Travel Duties
  • Manage all government travel issues
  • Ensure compliance with the JTR
  • Resolve travel expense issues
  • On-boarding Duties
  • Manage the on-boarding process for all new hires
  • Submit required new hire documents to payroll
  • Track and obtain all required new hire paperwork and maintain employee file
  • HRIS (Unanet) data input and maintenance, verify import of new hire information from ATS to HRIS, input missing information
  • Maintain I-9 compliance by auditing timely collection of I-9s from all new hires. E-Verify process for all new hires, and conducting a full I-9 audit at least annually
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment process and benefit questions
  • HR office reception for incoming calls and in person staff. To include answering routine questions regarding personnel procedures, benefits and 401k.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Be present during office hours to meet and greet customers, vendors, partners, and teammates.
  • Payroll Clerk Duties
  • Review all employee entries to ensure that all information has been captured correctly in Unanet
  • Enter all W4 Forms and Direct Deposit Forms
  • Complete Employee’s Benefit Audits
  • Complete requests for pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information for agencies as requested
  • Address employee's pay related concerns and provide accurate payroll information thru emails and phone calls
  • Send out new hire registration emails to all new hires and provide assistance with on-boarding process
  • Prepare payroll reports as requested
  • Filing as needed

Job Requirements:

Desired Skills:
  • Entry level payroll processing experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws, including Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity laws, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related field a plus
Security Clearance:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
