Social Media Content Specialist (Grant Funded)

Job Description

The nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare seeks a new addition to our DC office team to curate engaging daily content for social media for different audiences.  This position will implement digital communications strategies in support of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) social media accounts to maximize its social media footprint and increase engagement and produce content for AAP social media accounts and execute social media campaigns and initiatives, using organic and paid strategies, that align with overall AAP communications priorities.

 

Qualifications Include:

·       Bachelor's degree in communications, digital marketing, journalism, or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.

·       At least one year of related experience contributing to social media platforms required, including the development, execution, and analysis of social media content and use of tools and platforms to track and assess social media efficacy. PR firm experience a plus.

·       Must be an exceptional writer with strong attention to detail and the ability to draft clear and concise social media content.

·       Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, mastery of core social media platforms, and the ability to learn and apply new and trending platforms; experience with virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams) and document collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint) preferred.

·       Must be a creative, strategic thinker able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, respond quickly to time-sensitive matters, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborative effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

·       Excellent project management, organizational, diplomacy, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills required.

·       Some travel and evening/weekend work required.

Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our downtown office in Northwest DC.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $61,650.94 - $65,076.18. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
