The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Management Analyst (MS Project Scheduler)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. This position is eligible for hybrid work.

Position Background:

The Synthetic Environment Modeling (SEM) team is a government run organization that develops an advanced suite of software products supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) environments. The SEM product users include trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is the flagship product. NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development.


A typical day as a Management Analyst (MS Project Scheduler)-Journeyman may include:

  • Works with appropriate management teams and program leads to provide support in scheduling, task coordination, project analytics, deadline tracking and alignment with various projects
  • Applies correct scheduling principles, processes, techniques and tools
  • Plays an essential part within the project team
  • Creates and tracks applicable project timelines

Job Requirements


  • BS/BA Degree in technical, scientific, business discipline or qualifying substitute
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with MS Project
  • The ability to build, develop, detail, plan and/or refine multiple Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in MS Project, utilizing various project documentation and program/project team input (Including master project/subproject integration)
  • The ability to review/evaluate project documentation such as Statements of Work (SOW), Integrated Master Plans (IMP), industry Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Experience in schedule planning and management
  • Experience in preparing/analyzing project status reports to identify project critical path/driving path
  • Experience with developing and presenting graphic/oral presentations to assist project management team(s) in obtaining a clear understanding of scheduling related concerns
  • Strong ability to support tracking of installation/integration schedules
  • Excellent organizational and document retention skills
  • Experience working with DoD clients to establish/monitor the execution of projects towards milestones, key events and significant accomplishment criteria
  • The ability to accommodate a hybrid schedule (1-2 days a week in office) with a mandatory 2-month initial onsite training period (manager’s discretion)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with change management documentation
  • Experience supporting/managing a project/program schedule
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of the project team/stakeholders effectively

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
