Job Summary Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.) The ACCOM ATC Specialist, Terminal Watch Supervisor is responsible for the overall daily safe and expeditious flow of air traffic within the facility controlled airspace in accordance with ICAO and FAA 7110.65 regulatory compliance. Rules of separation must be applied to achieve the required separation as outline in FAA manuals and orders. Designee maintains situational awareness of the overall flow of air traffic operations at the facility assigned and is responsible for all ATC facility operations and services during their shift. Responsible for the safe, orderly flow of air traffic within their designated airspace. Designee coordinates with various controllers and personnel to relay information which pertains to the aircraft and in the interest of safety of flight including emergency information. Designee is responsible for vehicles and personnel operating on the airfield. Designee will control aircraft and will process flight plans, develop and supervise approach and departure procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements/Working Environment Ability to pass Class 4 Army flight physical or FAA Class 2 Flight Physical Ability to work night and day shift in hot desert environment. Some heavy lifting may be required. Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. Ability to travel domestically and internationally Knowledge and Skills Designee will be familiar with radar or control tower operations and apply the required separation of aircraft. Knowledge of processing flight plans, developing and supervising approach and departure procedures. Must have full working knowledge of RADAR/Manual approach control operations, control tower and flight planning. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques; control tower and approach control operations. Effective oral and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office software Education High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an approved DoD or FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) course. Five (5) years of relevant experience. One (1) year of experience must be from performing in a like type of facility. FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate or FAA Credential with Tower rating is required.
