About KapStone, Oakland, container plantOakland, California KapStone’s Oakland container plant is located on the east side of San Francisco Bay, just minutes over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.
KapStone’s Oakland facility began serving customers in 1950. Currently we operate in over 190,000 sq. ft. building, which is about four and a half acres under roof. The facility is a full-service custom-corrugated packaging manufacturer, which sells a wide variety of corrugated products to customers throughout the state of California. Wine and beverage and fresh produce is a large part of our business mix.
The plant boasts modern, well-maintained equipment summarized below. In addition, it maintains an in-house computerized ink blending system with an on-si8te ink technician, providing unlimited press-ready ink formulations. In-plant structural design provides support to sales and customer organizations for new and revised products.
Safety and environmental protection are prerequisites for work, and we have a strong focus on continuous improvement.
The hourly employees are represented by the Teamsters Local No 2.

Plant Equipment Equipment at the plant includes the following:
87” MHI CorrugatorOakland has a high-speed, quick change MHI corrugator. It is equipped with multi-flute cassette single facers that enable production of numerous flute and board combinations in both single and double wall. The corrugator is capable of running pre-print liners as well as providing protective and non-skid coatings to the combined board.
Ward Rotary Die Cut 66 x 113The Ward has three-color printing capability with in-line rotary die cutting. Equipped with pre-feeders, bundle breaker, efficient multi-outs and load building capability.
