Opportunity Village is a Las Vegas-based, not-for-profit agency that serves people with intellectual disabilities to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families.
Opportunity Village operates two campuses, two work centers and one Thrift Store in Las Vegas. It also operates a vehicle donation program, trains and places hundreds of disabled adults in jobs throughout Southern Nevada and hosts some of the most popular special events in all of Las Vegas, including the annual Magical Forest.
OV dates back to 1954, when a group of Las Vegas families got together to support the needs of children with mental retardation. As American Society evolved, providing more support for children with disabilities of all types, OV expanded into specialized services for adults with intellectual disabilities. Little did those founding families know that their small group would one day become Las Vegas' favorite charity. In fact, OV is now the largest private provider of vocational training, employment, advocacy and recreation for people with disabilities in Nevada. We currently serve hundreds of people with severe disabilities every day, and generally have a waiting list of many more who need our services.
