We have an immediate opportunity for Environmental Services Technicians.

Multiple shifts are available, some weekend requirements (rotating, not every)

 

General Summary: The Environmental Services Tech completes cleaning tasks and ensures the trash and linen duties are carried out as assigned. The Environmental Services Tech is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.

Patient Population: Has contact with patients in a non-clinical setting; understands and demonstrates appropriate behavior when interacting with patients in the adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.

Essential Functions:

1. Cleans all hospital areas to include: patient rooms, patient care areas, hallways, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, corridors and all other areas to ensure that health standards are met. Conducts detailed cleaning to include dusting, cleaning of all surfaces, emptying trash/waste and disposing of trash/waste properly. Ensures patient rooms are cleaned for admissions and discharges; ensuring that infection control protocols are met.

2. Assists in completing minor maintenance duties as requested by supervisor.

3. Replenishes supplies, such as linens, drinking glasses, bathroom items, etc. to ensure that patients have needed items.

4. Plans/organizes work for assigned shift to properly utilize time, resources and supplies to ensure work assignments are completed timely. Fills out work requests for items needing repairs.

5. Maintains equipment; ensuring equipment is clean and in working order; assures supplies are adequate. Keeps storage areas and carts well stocked, clean and tidy. Informs supervisor of needed supplies.

6. Reports any safety or risk factors seen, initiating and maintaining appropriate safety measures. Responds appropriately and assists others in emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.

7. The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position requirements are demonstrated through the successful completion of competencies established for the position, to include population served, and other special needs of patients or customers served by the department.

8. Adheres to LifeCare policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.

9. Regular attendance and timeliness is required.

Requirements


Supervision: Not applicable.

Experience: Six months experience in housekeeping including prior floor experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Not applicable.
