JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager position in the Lansing, Michigan CNSI office will perform HR Generalist and Employee Relations responsibilities, primarily for the Lansing office, and serve as the HR Business Partner for the Technology organization. As part of this role and in conjunction with the Human Resources team, the HR Manager will work closely on all employee-related matters with Lansing, serve as a point of contact for managers on people and organizational related matters, ensure compliance to policies and regulations, coordinate local on-boarding and off-boarding activities, and provide overall leadership to building a productive work environment and a culture of respect and engagement. Will also partner with legal and outside counsel on employment and immigration matters. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:   Human Resources: Serves as lead HR generalist and Business Partner for the Lansing office location, partnering with HR Leadership Team, HR Operations, Recruiting and Learning and Development teams to promote human resources strategies for CNSI. Works cross-functionally with the Technology and Program Delivery team, working closely with senior management and leaders. Handles all employee relations matters for the Lansing office, working with managers on performance-related matters. Analyzes exit interview data for Lansing employees, working closely with HR team to determine corrective action plans and provides recommendations on continuous improvement initiatives. Serves as main HR point of contact for Lansing employees. Works as liaison with Legal team on immigration-related matters for Lansing employees. Provides leadership for Lansing location by ensuring compliance related activities are handled appropriately, along with HR Operations, and on boarding and off boarding in conjunction enterprise processes. Ensures employee and organization compliance to federal and state regulations regarding employment. Monitors overall HR compliance activities, working with the Legal team as needed and ensuring on-time and accurate completion of all necessary reporting forms. Assists in supporting management by providing human resources-related advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications. Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organizational values. Creates comprehensive and effective change management strategies to mitigate risk and ensure project success. Uses HR and project experience to confidently question the status quo, challenge assumptions, and make course corrections where necessary. Leverages broad HR knowledge and experience to ensure compliance to policies, procedures and regulations. Will require some travel, 10-15%. General: Translates strategies into current and future action plans. Addresses business issues which are beyond immediate needs. Handles work situations which deal regularly with future business issues. Synthesizes many perspectives or conflicting ideas. Partners with key managers and stakeholders and analyzes issues and problems from the customer perspective. Manages internal customer relationships for long-term value. Plans performance measurements to meet organizational goals. Talent Development: Requests and gives both negative and positive feedback. Recruits highly skilled, motivated leaders and individual contributors, and recommends potential new hire resources to meet client commitments in alignment with Human Resources. Assists in encouraging and facilitating the development of a significant knowledge base in the Human Resources team. Conducts performance evaluations and corrective action plans, measuring key performance indicators (KPI) while coordinating with Human Resources leadership. Responsible for administrative functions for direct reports (if applicable) related to recruiting, training, developing inter-personal skills among team members, conducting performance and annual reviews, setting SMART goals, recommending salary increases and adjustments, ensuring timekeeping compliance, and taking disciplinary actions when necessary. Helps resolve conflicts affecting people and project priorities. MANDATORY SKILLS: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree with 8-10 years of overall HR experience (Preferred Majors: Human Resources, Organization Development, or a closely related field.) 3+ years of Employee Relations and HR Business Partner experience. Experience with HR Technology Systems and Tools. Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite with advanced skills in building management presentations and utilizing Excel. Outstanding ability to manage relationships and balance customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes. Excellent consultative skills and ability to communicate effectively across varied stakeholder audiences, including senior organizational leaders. Possesses strong strategic orientation, analytical skills, critical thinking ability, and evaluate broad impacts of work. Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to lead, influence, and motivate others in the work group. Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances. Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment. Must be able to develop and clearly and concisely present to multiple levels of management. Must be well organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments. Experience in effective change management techniques and implementation. Possesses broad knowledge covering multiple Human Resources functions. Experience with organizational design and process improvement.
