Volunteers of America of Florida Joins HireVeterans!

Volunteers of America of Florida	Joins HireVeterans!

Volunteering, when viewed in the lens of social values, surfaces at the very top. It can even be said that volunteering is the ultimate act of service. It's when a person willingly chooses to render himself/herself for a particular cause. And when an action stems from a volunteer, you can expect excellence on how things are or will be done. Since it's a conscious choice, there is an effort to deliver according to the best of that person's ability.

Interestingly, the word "volunteer" traces its origin from the military. It was first coined in 1600 from the Middle French term voluntaire which means "one who offers himself for military service." This is a fitting origin of the term because military service has always been equivalent to self-sacrifice, passion and excellence; and there are many who can argue that joining the military is the ultimate act of service for your country.

The latest addition to HireVeterans' roster of partner employers is a volunteer organization. Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAFL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the most in need across the nation since 1896 and in Florida since the 1920’s. The organization even prides itself to go over and beyond being a non-profit organization. VOAFL is a ministry of service. They do things with faith and strive to instill purpose in the lives of the people that they help - including (but not limited to) physically and mentally disabled veterans, homeless veterans and their families.

Be part of VOAFL's noble purpose! Serve veterans and other disadvantaged groups in our society while also earning for your family.
